GMA 7 did a news item on dengue fever treatment using Tawa Tawa. They called me up, but I referred them instead to my cousin. So she got the interview here. Her name is Frances Giron, she’s one of the daughters of my Auntie Portia who taught me about Tawa Tawa tea being the cure for dengue fever.
Tawa tawa is now well known on radio and tv so it’s folk lore status is now well established. No matter if the department of health will not officially endorse it because they are beholden to western medical paradigms where formal studies have to be made first. But only drug companies have the money to fund formal studies. So you can be sure that there will no study in the future because there is no funding mechanism.

When my daughter had dengue, I was the one who took care of her in the hospital. So I stay there for almost a week then after she was discharge I got on and off high fever, after 3 days I went to the hospital for a check and they check my blood and found out that my platelet is below normal. So I was admitted all the people in the E.R. is telling us to take TAWA TAWA tea, we just ignore it. But then, when my room mate was advice to look for a blood donor because her platelet was below 20 and she needs at least 7 bags of blood we got nervous. I remember that when I was looking for a cure to my daughter I saw this blog about TAWA TAWA. So I asked my husband to buy a tawa tawa in quiapo. I said to myself “why not try”. We also encourage my room mate to drink it and after that when she had her blood test were both waiting for the result the following day. I was wondering why the nurses and doctors are visiting my room mate to ask again about the blood transfusion. Then after lunch her doctor came in and have this good news that her platelet is increasing and there’s no need for blood transfusion. Same as my platelet count it also increase.
